My girls started laying a couple weeks ago so im new to this ..
My Question ..How old can the eggs be to be safe to eat not refridgerated ?

.Last night 3 eggs were laid early om ;like 6 pm but it was very hot and muggy out and raining lightening all night so didnt go out. Got them this morning Dont know if they should be kept..... or throw out.
So far I have gotten mine when they are still warm so i know they are fine..but these not sure.
Thanks ahead.

They'll be fine, don't worry. I've seen eggs sit out on a counter for more than a week in summer that was still o.k. to eat. You can do a simple test to determine freshness of eggs. Fill a bowl with cold water from the tap and gently put the eggs in there. If it lays flat on the bottom of the bowl it's fresh, if it lifts up slightly is not completely fresh, but still o.k. and if it stands up or floats, throw it.

]Thanks so much good to know

They will definitely be fine. As long as you do not wash them you can leave your eggs out of the frig for a long time. Mass market eggs need to be refrigerated because they get washed and the membrane that keeps out bacteria come off in washing. In other parts of the world it is not uncommon to see unrefrigerated eggs at grocery stores. I leave mine out on the counter all time because I find them pretty - never had a problem. As soon as you wash them however, get them in the frig.
