How old do baby chicks have to be to live outside?

If it is relatively warm weather, you should wait until they are almost fully feathered to put them outside. Have fun with your chicks!

Mine go out to the coop as day olds in a brooder out there with a light. We still have a foot or so of snow on the ground, the temps are still down to -15C, I am in Northern Ontario...and I have chicks out there :) They are not as delicate as you think...a good draft free brooder in an insulated henhouse...with a heat light 18" above, deep litter...they are fine. They do hover under the light but they become very hardy chickens
