How old do chickens need to be when using electric poultry netting?

Big enough to not fit through the openings in the net.

This.

After I get the brooder coop together I'm going to have to install an inner curtain of 1/2" plastic hardware cloth inside my netting so that I can let the 5-week-old Lavender Splits out of the Temporary Accommodations to integrate with the adult flock.

The SLW can *still* squeeze through the upper squares if the fence is sagging (from a chick she has always preferred digging under/squeezing through to flying. The California White probably could but disdains such earthbound measures and just flies over when she has a whim to do so. :D

I think it was about 12-16 weeks that I took the inner curtain down last time -- when they were about full-sized.

Here's a photo from last August with the inner curtain in place.
