How old do chicks normally have to be to sex them?

I have 2 chicks that I don't know what gender they are. They're roughly 3 or 4 weeks old, and one is an Easter Egger and one is a Barred Rock. How old do they have to be before I can determine their sex? Are there any tips for figuring it out on your own if you're not a profressional sexer?

For the Eastern Egger, you'll get the most accurate evaluation by posting at about eight weeks old, although some boys are very obvious much earlier. The barred Rock should be pretty clear by 5 weeks or so.
