How old do male bantams start crowing?

No lie..my Old English Game Bantams (from Ideal) started crowing at 4 weeks old, I was shocked. Really, just as the others have said, it depends on the breed. I have noticed that the gamefowl tend to be pretty quick about showing their gender, both in feather color and with their crow. Others, take longer. If you have Silkies and Brahmas, prepare to wait.

I have had a couple of Serama chicks start "trying to crow" at 4 weeks also. I could hardly believe it...too!! At first I was trying to figure out what was making that sound..LOL

My Old English bantam, James, was crowing at 6 weeks and is 10 weeks old and trying to mount 10 week old Ameracauna pullets! Do they mature early sexually, as well???

By the looks of your bantam and description you gave, they appear to sexually mature at a rapid rate. I can't believe that cockerel is close to becoming an adult rooster at 10 weeks (or 2.3 months) of age!
