i have them in a brooder i jus was wondering at what age do the free range you know turn them out on there own

if they are not momma raised then i read to wait 8 weeks - this insures their immune systems are up to par.

when we put ours out they totally freaked out - it helped to have a relatively small fenced in area which was totally shaded. once they got they hang of it they were fine - we found them easy to move around by 'herding' them and only had to use poultry netting to keep them in.. until they figured out the flappy things on their sides allowed them to fly
;-)

Ours stay in the brooder barn until at least 8 to 10 weeks in the summer when it's warm. When they go outside it's into a covered "maturnity pen" until they are about 5 months old. If you put the poults out to early and they get wet more than likely you will loose some or all. Young poults will pile and smother each other or chill and get sick.
