When we added our first cockerel (raised separately but on our property), the hens chased him all over the place and put him in a corner. (see the grey feathers sticking up behind the barred rock?) Then he hid in the nest box for about a week. They worked it out eventually.

I agree with adding the pullets to him one at a time over a period of days rather than a group introduction.
