How old is a rooster when...

Okay rooster is 14 weeks old and is starting to peck at the pullets. The pullets are about 16 weeks old and haven't started laying yet. The rooster is crowing all the time now also.

My 20 pullets and one roo are 18 and a half weeks old and the rooster had to be separated from them because he was trying to "rape" them. Currently, he is living in a dog kennel with a dog house and will NOT shut his trap.

Your problem will eventually lead to him holding onto the feathers of the girls' neck/back and not letting go.. he will try to be 'romantic' with them in an agressive way. I recommend seperating him from the girls for at least several months before putting him back with the girls. By then, he should maybe be nicer about it.

When will the pullets start laying eggs. My California whites is the oldest by a week.
