How old is your oldest chicken?

That is crazy old for her breed, many develop reproductive cancers and die young. Glad some of them make it longer.
I never knew that. I do have a BSL that has to have 9 lives. Once she almost got eaten by a dog, flew into my 12 feet deep pond and just swam safely to the shore, was accidentally left outside durning the night when there was raccoons and such everywhere and finally she got stuck under a metal bucket that was coated in chicken slop and didn't suffocate. She is one crazy chicken.

Mine is a buff brahma at around six yo.

My oldest turned 7 in May; she's a BA and was the last of my original flock of day-old chicks. She is molting now but had been laying about once a week. Her sister, also 7, passed away in July.:hit
So sorry for your loss. It's always hard to loose an old friend.

My oldest is seven and the others should be about the same age
I'm so glad that most people let their chickens grow old and don't just slaughter them when they stop laying.
