How old is your oldest?

Well I guess my chickens arent that old. Like I said I wasnt sure how old a chicken could live for, since we ended up eating them. I never would have imagined that they could get up to 1 6 or 17 years old

I had one I think was like a year & he was like shoe leather (STEWED) I can't imagine something older

I've had Lucky for 7 years. She was already laying when she appeared in my garden one day. So that makes her at least 8 years old.

Lucky, you good girl! She looks young and happy. And if I remember correctly, she is the hen that kept you in chickens, right? At the very least, she started you.

Glad you care for her. She looks like quite a "character" and full of mischief. Every image of her that you post she looks like she is "on the verge of creating chaos." She is a favorite of mine, thanks for keeping the pics of her coming.

I have 2 RIR hens that are about 8 years old. In the summer I get one egg about every other day but I think only one hen lays because the other hen has spurs.
