BAck in January, I got a new scovy drake. he was the same size then as my current hens. Now here in April, he is only a bit bigger, and his caruncles are starting to look drake-like (up until last week, I though he might be a hen, but I am starting to see differences now. My question is, how old should he be before he starts being potent and gets to fertilizing those eggs? I mean, we love eating the duck eggs, but we also want to eat duck too.
He sounds like he is in the 6 month range. Don't know what else to say. I would assume if he is attempting to breed that he is fully capable. Our silly drakes kept falling off but finally got it figured out.
