So we have 20 babies and they are around 2 months old when are they going to start laying?

Depends on your breed or hybrid.

The commercial laying machines (known as sex links, ISA Browns, and a LOT of other names) generally start laying by 16 to 20 weeks.

Other, more heritage type breeds will lay by 5 1/2 to 6 months (22 to 24 weeks).

Some larger breeds may not lay until nearly 8 months (32 weeks).

Just like a watched pot never boils....new pullets seem to not lay while we are anxiously waiting. :)
