I had thought about getting some broilers to process for meat chickens this year but instead I have just hatched a dozen chicks from a mix of Silky, BR, RIR, WL, BO. Im sure some of them will be roosters. If I dont sell them, they probably will need to be processed. There is an Amish lady in KY that will do it for me< cant do it myself>, but was wondering what age they should be to be worth processing? I have been told 10 months to as early as 4 months. Any suggestions?

Watching with interest as although I've got some CXs in the incubator, I've also got some barnyard mixes so will likely process any roos from that batch. Am very tempted to try and caponise them having seen the link on here but not sure I'll actually have the balls for it (pardon the pun
