How old were you?

When you first moved out on your own? I was watching a show with some kids in their early 20s who were not yet looking at living on their own and it made me wonder when most people take that step. I was living in a college dorm when I was 17 and rented my first apartment at 19. I know my husband had his first apartment at around the same age. So how old were you?

I joined the military at 18.

Oldest son was off to college and living in the dorms at 18.

I left home 2 weeks after I turned 15. Things were a lot different back then. I had a full time job and was still in high school full time. I rented a small house trailer, walked back and forth to work (About 2 miles) until I could save up $75.00 to buy my first car (a '65 Impalla).
You gotta keep in mind though that I lived in "Mayberry, USA".

I moved out the month I graduated high school...at 18. I took the first job I could find and attended college. I rented a crappy apt. with a roomate.

Got married in July @ 20 yrs of age & graduated Tech in August... in 1985... I feel old... My youngest is a senior @ South Carolina!

Then back home because the family I was staying with had troubles...

Then HS graduation, Mom so proud... yada... next day kicked me out... and haven't been back since. So, 18.
