How old when you had your youngest child?

30 with my daughter and a month short of 32 with my son...yeah, I know, old mom!! The good thing was that I was finished with all the selfish "me first" living, all the wild days were over and I was ready to settle down..DH too so we have spent the past 20 years focusing on just kids and been very lucky to have had them turn out just great.

I was 21 with my first son - don't remember anything - they gave me a shot for pain - I had him at 9 pm, and woke up at 1 pm feeling great!!!

My second and last son was at age 27 - nothing for pain - they checked me every two minutes to see if I had dialated and it was the worst pain I can think of - I started tearing and before they got me asleep - he had to cut me - I said then I would not have any more children - my oldest is 41 and youngest is 35 - I am 62 and sometimes wish I had of had one more - a girl.......sigh!

Oh, but then I still remember the labor of the 2nd son.....I didn't forget anything... ..OUCH!

I was 35 when I had my youngest. The pregnancy wasn't too bad but I had trouble walking because I didn't wear supportive shoes during my previous pregnancy. I had some morning sickness. I gave birth in about one hour. I woke up in the middle of the night with a contraction and told my husband to get me to the hospital because I give birth quickly. It took 1/2 hour to drive to the hospital in a storm. I barely made it up to the maternity ward. No time to call my doctor. They called the house doctor in and she just stood there with her mouth hanging open while my daughter was born. My husband was going to catch her but a nurse happened to walk in at that exact moment and caught her. I had the one before that when I was 33. I was having slight irregular contractions and told my husband to take me to the hospital to see if I was in labor. They hooked me up to a machine and checked me. Told me I wasn't in labor and went to get my discharge papers. We were planning to go to Walmart to walk around some. Suddenly my water broke. The nurse came in and told me I would be in labor for at least 18 hours. Everyone left the room to take care of the paper work again. Suddenly I knew this baby was coming. I pressed the button and told the nurse This baby is coming now! She says no its not and leaves again. I press it again she comes back decides to check and then tells me to try and wait while they get a doctor. I was in labor for a total of 15 minutes. I'm just glad that one wasn't born at Walmart!

I was 35 when my last was born - I decided I had had enough of hospitals and had her at home.

It wasn't easy - but it was MUCH MUCH nicer being in my OWN HOME!
