i am new to the world of chickens, but to my knowledge, broodiness varies with the individual. I have an OEGB who at 6 months old had only 1 egg in the nest and decided to go broody. I let her be and now I have 1 2 week old chick.

Have patience. It will happen when you least expect it.

They will go broody after you either......

    1) Order baby chicks...

    2) Buy incubator, and set eggs.

Seriously tho....just depends on the individual..and breed. Some never go broody...some will a few times a year!
