Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. Barred Rocks are as cold hardy as Rhode Island Reds, so they would probably do okay, but I would personally give them another week to be on the safe side. I normally put my chicks out between 4 and 5 weeks during warm weather. Good luck with your flock.

Glad you joined us! I agree with the above, give them another week at least. Let them sleep without any extra heat for a night or two and see how they deal with it first and if they are o.k. move them
outside.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

X3 I would wait till they are almost 5 weeks old. Definitely by 5 weeks you can put them out, but you might get away with it at 4 1/2 weeks. I put my Barred Rock chicks out at exactly 5 weeks old this year and they did just fine. Your chicks need to be fully feathered before you can trust they will be warm enough.

Enjoy your Rocks! My babies are 12 weeks old this week and wow, they are such sweety pies.

Welcome to our flock!

BYC has a very useful learning center

These guys went out at 3 weeks but it was a lot warmer here in February then it is where you are now and 10 of them to keep each other warm .....

These guys were hatched outside but it gets down to 100 F at night so again you should wait till it is warmer there or your chicks have some feathers but if you start putting them out in the day your chicks will start growing feathers faster to keep warm and if you feed them some hard boiled egg's as I do to aid in feather growth
