How or what could I use as a most recessive of recessive colored chicken to test the genetic make-up

I realize this may require quite a few birds in the test group. But if I were to compile a group to breed a cockerel to so that I could then hatch out chicks to record the down color and adult plumage to see what HIS make-up was, what would be your "dream team".

Taking the scenario a step further, what cockerels would need to be bred to different hens to test them and is this even feasible with a hen?

Hi,' the most recessive of recessive colors is the Back Breasted Red. e+/e+ s+ ( s- in males). It is wildtype. It is the basic color.
Best,

Hi,
Use the gold birds. It needs to be wildtype gold, based on e+ , not any other allele. needs to be e+/e+ s+ ( s- ).
If it not exactly this genetic formula,( regardless f the bird is technically a Duckwing variety) it is not
Black-Breasted Red (wildtype) and you will not be using the a completely recessive color palette for your color testing.
Best,
Karen
