so the other day i went to my coop to let my hens out and my turken girl crowed.
so my "she" is a he
i was just wondering how popular the naked necks are because i dont wanna get rid of Bob, but if turkens are not popular then when i sell my eggs in spring i wouldnt make any money..

It just depends on your area. I found that a lot of people around here had never seen them before, and it's usually a love-hate thing -- either they're going to like them, or they'll think they're the ugliest thing they've ever seen. I haven't sold a whole lot of them locally, but I have had people buy eggs to be shipped.

If you have full feathered hens in with your roo, the odds are 50-50 you'll end up with naked neck chicks. My naked neck roo has fathered both naked necks and normal offspring, mostly normal ones.

I love my Turkens and I have 2 of them a roo and a hen...they are the most friendliest of most of my birds...and what a personality too...my hen follows me all over when I go outside...I cant wait till she trys hatching some in the spring...Yep its either you love them or hate them...I love them cause they are so different...

When I first saw the pics last year (Murray McMurray) I thought they were the ugliest things ALIVE. Now I have two and love them!! LOL! I agree, it depends on your area... I would have more.

One can never have too many naked-necks!

I can't wait till I can incubate some of mine.

Anyone know how many different "kinds" or colors there are of Turkens?

We just got a solid black hen (with flesh colored neck) last week. Then I saw someone was giving away a Turken Roo, so we to get him. He's solid white (with bright red colored neck).

The chicks may end up pretty scary looking!!!
