How quick are hawks?

Are my girlies safe outside their coop if i am out there with them? There was a big fat Cooper Hawk hanging around my backyard today as I was about to let the girls out for their recess. I didnt want to chance it though.

Yeah hawks are very quick and they will attack even if you are there.
