How quiet is a Rouen duck

Hi there guys

My kids like to have a duckling as pet and Im trying to locate a quite breed
dont want to bother the neigbors
there is a guy selling Rouens
What do you think of this breed?

My drake is just grumbly, about as loud as a dog growling. The ladies, however are MOUTHY! They would make good watch-ducks.

LOUD. Rouen females are very mouthy, loud, and annoying. Great layers and huge birds, but very noisy.

Mine are a week old and dont shut up. THey both 'call' for me when they want something. They even tweet in their sleep. No clue how loud they will be as adults.

Everything I have read says the Muscovys are the quietest, but since my son is the duck fancier, and he says that all his ducks have to have green heads, I am kindof stuck with Rouens. (He's 8. Who knows why they think like they do.) I do like them a lot, though, they have very sassy personalities and look like, well, ducks.

Seriously, though, the male is very quiet. I doubt his grumbling would annoy the neighbors, and he is very fancy looking with his green head and irridescent wing-bling.

I have a 7 week old Rouen i hatched in bator and a pair of Rouen ducks. Its not like they are real, real loud there just ducks. so whats some quacks occasionally? Now if you were trying to hide them from every one, might be a different story. But really they aren't too loud & they love to swim. Great personalities & very tame, friendly ducks! My Rouen females are not loud compared to my Pekins, those are the real big mouths! The drakes aren't loud at all, the ducks are the ones who quack. But I hardly ever hear mine unless the broody one comes off her nest....she has to let the whole world know she's out there!

My Rouens are no where near as loud as my Pekins.
