How quiet is a Rouen duck

My Rouen drake is very quiet, but I think most drakes are. My Rouen female can be very mouthy, but only when she's yelling at my drake or sees me coming. Other wise, she's pretty quiet.

My girls, }}}Rouen & Golden Cascade Are Both Sittin on Nests so it's been extra quiet here.

lol But they are very good girls & They Would Be Even Better If I Could Get Them To Do DISHES.

My rouens are very friendly and yeah girls can be loader if they are spoked or just want some attention but there not extremly load. Baby's are always talking but they are scarred and curiose and learning. When I rasied pekins from my mother in law, know they were load and seemed to never be quite but they too were very friendly also. Go with what you like but also think about if you want a friendly duck or a more independent duck and if you want to deal with flying issues or not. Good luck!

LOUD!!!!

Like ear splitting loud.

If you want quiet hens, mucovies.

Someone else had said for a mallard derived breed, cayugas are supposed to be quiet. I have no experience though.

Oh yes, I forgot about the cayugas. The ones I had were not loud. Now don't get me wrong, when they quack they were loud, but just like my rouens, they hardly ever quacked. Now my pekins? That's a different story. They 'QUACK QUACK QUACK' when they lose site of another duck, then again when they see someone they lost site of, again when they are hungry, and again when they are done eating....they just like to hear themselves quack!

Mallard drakes are very quiet. You can barely hear them and they don't ask for much. Then again, they try to go into my shirt when I feed them leafy vegetables or grass. If anything, they can fly and find food.

I like them more. They are friendlier as well except when they try to get into my sleeve when I am feeding them vegetables. Have to take a shower afterwards... Then again, they are the first to run/fly away when they are full and you try to pet them. Make sure you get your ducks young, if you get them old, they don't trust you at all...
