How rare is it for a rooster to fend a coon like ours

Wonderful roo you have!
I can believe it, thinking about the traits breeder want in a (sensitive subject) in a fighting type rooster the ability is there. Majority will kill off an aggressive roo in their own flock that we don't see the success of a rooster handling more powerful predators.
We had 3 roosters in our pastured layer flock, and one production olive egger mutt roo is just the worst. Aggressive with me, especially others that come around, he's terrible. He went after one of our dogs. I hoped that his ferocity would translate to protection skills, alas with 2 hawk attacks, we lost one of the nice roosters and this nightmare is still safe and sound and alive, untouched.

I rescued an aggressive rooster years ago and tried taming him but the longest he'd go before trying to flog me was a couple wks. I eventually culled him.Do yourself a favor and get rid of him

You all lost me. Amricana? Americana?
That's not a game fowl.

Even more lost.
Human aggressive? Where did that come from?

"Thought" it was a game rooster..... So it wasn't?
Dad was a fighting rooster.... so it was? Half?
That used the grand dad was it like 5% gamefowl. They used it for fight even though it was normal roo and it's spur genes are crazy there like 6 inch
