How sad is this?

I lived in Adelanto for about a year!! My husband was in the Air Force. We were stationed at George AFB.

There was NOTHING out there back in those days (early 1970's) I have never been back there. I bet it has changed a lot!! Victorville was really only a few stores and a very small town back then. ( I grew up in Los Angeles) We drove into Riverside or LA to visit with family every weekend. I miss those days!!

Oh you wouldnt believe what it is now! Restaurants, stores, paved roads - HAHAHA! It is getting so overrun with people we are thinking of moving to Phelan. Remember THAT??

Oh my Phelan... that was really nothing out there. I remember learning to drive a stick shift out in the desert there with no real roads only sand. We had a 1965 Mustang, wish we still had that car!!

There were "homesteads" out there then. Broken down shacks abandonded for the most part.

I remember going out to Calico Mine, and some trout farm out in the tullies there.

I love downtown Orange. Such a neat area! You just missed the street fair. I've never been to it, but I have a friend whose husband is an Orange firefighter, so they go every year. One of these days I'll go myself. It's just usually so hot at that time of the year. I live near the coast, so I'm a bit spoiled by the cooler temperatures at that time.

I am such an addict to this site that I know that there aren't as many people on on the weekends. Kinda makes me feel old

All the young ones have something better to do on Friday and Saturday nights...

At that time of night, I think it's all the west coasters and people with insomnia that are on here. It too funny last night - I was here and people kept dropping like flies and I had no posts to answer!!
