Those look yummy!
Well, Emily QUIT! Day 3 and she quit. She just started standing around, then she ran out and wanted to dustbathe...and dustbathe...and dustbathe. Put her back in her pen. She stood beside the eggs, in front of the eggs, ate some food, drank some water, stood around some more, till I let her out and put her back in the main coop, thinking she'd run back to the nest she wanted to stay in, but no. She is outside dustbathing, again. This girl is completely defective! Goes broody once each quarter only to quit before they hatch. Chicken Empanadas sound pretty good about now.
I cracked one of the two Smoky eggs and darned if it isn't fertile.
So, I took the other egg, plus Smoky's egg from today, and put them in a nest in the main coop under a hen and will see if someone will sit on them. It would be good is some other hen would go broody about now. After all, these are babies from Suede and Smoky, Thor's siblings and I know that Cetawin would want them, male or female.
