How should he hatch? Please!

He is in his egg and pipped in two places but the membrane is white and it doesn't look like he broke through the membrane yet. We added extra moisture but is he ok? He is peeping too. But the temperature is a little cold. Probably bc I had to open it some to put in the wet washcloth and napkin to raise the humidity. The egg is also sitting in a little bit of water that came out of the washcloth. Is he okay????? Pleaseeeeeee

You should just leave it close. If he's pipped the shell then he broke the membrane inside. But it will still coat majority of the shell. It's normal for a piece of shell to come off and have the membrane cover the hole. It's actually tore but covers the hole. If you watch carefully and chirp at them in my experience it causes the chick to move some and you'll see the membrane move or even see a little beak stick out the hole.

He was chirping last night but he's not right now and it doesn't look like he's done anything else the shell looks the same. Is he okay. Is it normal for him to not do anything for almost 7 hours!???

It can take 36 hours for them to hatch. He's fine.

Sounds like that baby wants too come out! He'll probably start zipping the shell soon. Keep us posted.
