How soon after Baytril can I give Itraconizole?

Hi, need some urgent help please to figure out the correct dosage of 0.5% Baytril liquid (piglets) for my very sick duck. Need to start meds asap.

Additional information. While she is still eating, drinking and walking around, she isnt keeping up with the others and isnt eating enough. She is very light weight - 800 grams (just weighed her a moment ago).

The problem is, I believe, respiratory. She is heaving to breath, tail bobbing and last night there was some clear fluid coming from her nares. I can clearly see through her nares though, one side to the other.

Thanks casportpony So, because she is only 800 grams in weight, the dosage would be say 0.2 mls 2 x per day? Is that correct?

The Baytril I have is oral solution for piglets. I've used it orally for my chickens before.

Gosh - sorry - total maths dumbo here .....so how much twice per day? 0.16mls or 0.24mls?

Wait a minute, can you confirm the product. Is it 5% or 0.5%?

0.5% Baytril

• The math for 800 grams is:
  • 0.8 x 10 / 5 = 1.6 ml
  • or
  • 0.8 x 15 / 5 = 2.4 ml

Some vets prescribe the lower dose, others prescribe the higher dose.
