I'm a proud new mama of 4 chicks of 2 weeks old. 1 buff polish, 2 buff frizzel batams & one barred rock bantam. They are so cute, Hope I can post some pictures.
My question is, I have put them outside for an hour or two in at least 89* to 90* weather with shade of chorse. Today they have been out in their coop for at least 5 hours and loving every minute of it. Worms! they are on the hunt and fight over bits and pieces of worms they find. So much fun to watch them. I put their nesting box in the bottom of the coop to give them shade. They seem to be ok, and not huddleing up like their cold. The only time they went into the box, was to take a little nap. So I'm wondering at what age can they spend more time outside and at what temp?
Thanks for your help.

Ok, I'm a dummie, how do I put pictures on this message?????????

At little more than two weeks old mine were spending a good part of the day outside, with me there to supervise. The temps. needed are the same as if they were in the brooder. At 2 weeks, that would be 85 to 90. They can probably tolerate a little cooler. Just watch for signs of chilling - loud peeping and huddling tight - and of course don't have them out in the rain or in heavy winds.

Thanks for the good advice. They are out supervised by me and my trusty watch dog of 3 1/2 lbs. My Papillon. The temps have been 85 to upper 90*'s this week. They seem to be enjoying the sun and time outside. I bring them in back to their brooder before it drops to 80*. They seem very happy and contented.

Very cute! All you have to do is keep in mind how Mama Hen would raise them. She lets her chicks out from just a day or so old, always keeping an eye on them and tucking them back under her for warmth when necessary.
Your chicks look great.

I have a concrete floor chain link dog kennel that I lined with hardware cloth 4ft up. It's 6x8, and there's a big dog house in it filled with fluffy shavings.

It's about 95-97 deg during the day, so they run around like crazies on the obstacle course I built them (bricks placed strategically around in the kennel in a circle LOL) and at night (it gets down to about 65ish) they go back into the dog house with a 100wt light in it until sun up the next morning. It's soo nice getting to keep chicks outside instead of brooding in my house like I did all spring!
