How soon can you feed cracked/ground corn. It is very small pieces, not like cracked corn that you get in the 50 lb bags. My ducks are 4 days old and i didnt know how soon they could have some. Do they need grit like the chick?

If you feed them that you can count on some dead duckies.

They won't die from feeding them corn.

I add oats to duckling's feed at 3 or 4 weeks old to lower the protein level of the feed. I don't like to feed ducks corn because they have so much fat on their bodies anyway. I only feed them a little bit of corn in the winter.

I fed mine towards winter, and still today (I give them layer in the winter too) They like corn, and they have not gotten fat.

But for you I would hold off until they are older.

Thank you for responding. I sure dont want dead babies. I know that the adult duck that are on our pond eat the cracked corn that we feed our geese and they havent died, but i dont want to run the risk of losing babies over cracked corn. Sounds like i just need to wait for a few weeks.
