How Stupid Are We? Why, QUITE!

Well I'm really glad your dog didnt have a field day with the chicks.
It's funny. My dogs love the chickies - they drool and fawn and get all excited over them.
But let a grown chicken come around and we have some serious training issues going on.
Im just glad you got off light. A miracle indeed.

Now if you didn't get a decent set of traps and a good rifle to deal with the next fox, along with your new flock then, well...
I'll not say stupid just yet, but maybe a little dense.

Ninjapoo, the chick's guardian angels must have been on high-alert with their swords drawn during that precarious hour!!! So glad everybody was okay.

lol It's a modern day Daniel and the lions den!

We have traps, new lights, motion sensors, gamecams, and a tree-stand overlooking the scene of the crime. Since getting the de-predation permit, NOTHING. Not a sign.

I sometimes wonder the same thing. My "hunter" who can catch birds with no problems. Hasnt even shown a second of interest in the peeping from the brooder. The two indoor boys(kittens still) sit on the brooder. But when I take the girls out and sit with them on the couch. They too show no interest.

I am more concerned with the dog. Being a Border Collie and having that predator drive barely hidden under the surface. Yeah. He concerns me. Hence the reason the girls will only be free ranged when he is in the house and I am out to watch them. Since crazy neighbor has decided the leash law doesnt apply to her or her dog.

It was the only place to hide and still have a clear line of sight (and shot) to the area.
