How tall are chickens?

    I need to know because we are going to have extra space under the coop and need to know how tall it should be off the ground

    Depends on the breed, whether they are bantams, and whether there will be a rooster, which are usually taller than their hens. Probably the average large fowl hen is around 1.5 to 2 feet tall, but that's a very general number. Brahmas, for example, get bigger than that (I believe,) and Jersey Giants certainly do.

    Most raised coops have about a 2 foot ground clearance under them.

    You need to have your coop high enough that somebody in the family can crawl under it. Something will get under there that you need to reach!

    Yes no matter what we will get under there (there will be a wooden door under in that spot) and no rooster the largest will be a hen fowl
