Sorry for the delay. We have bad weather, and I had no computer service. Finally, here they are ... the 3 Silkied Ameracaunas I hatched. I have 9 more eggs (same breed) that go into lockdown tomorrow, due on Wedneday.
Here are some pictures of Ivory taken today! She was standing on my laptop, staring at the screen and she kept pecking at the mouse when it moved around!

Temps were 99.5 throughout the hatch, never went lower than 98 or higher than 101 for any period of time. I'm quite puzzled as to the lateness and slowness. Maybe because its really frickin cold here, we've had a really bad cold spell. So bad my pipes froze last night and today I have spent the entire time with the hairdryer, trying to get it working so I can get the babies into the brooder.
We had 4 eggs not hatch and 11 chicks are out and kicking about. Two have dried membranes on their back which I will get off later today. One who has been onhis back the entire time in the bator. Everyone else looks super happy and energetic (including the two with dried membranes) The eggs that didnt hatch had no pips, as far as I can see. I will open them up later tonight. Not looking forward to that!! I really dont know what I did wrong but I am going to analyze things in my head for awhile yet.

Oh wow do you have my sympathy. I live in rural West Virginia, and these darn pipes are not buried deep enough, and I fight frozen pipes every time it gets cold.
Listen, I get up several times a night. I set my dish washer, even if I would only have two dirty dishes, to run during the night. I put in one or two load of clothes depending on how cold it is. I check all faucets to make sure they are running, because my husband is more than a little absent minded.
Bleh. Are your pipes thawed out yet? Here, sending warm vibes--hard to do, as it is very cold here today also!
