I just got a new hen on Thursday, as a trade for a Rooster.
Shannon is a New Hampshire and was born around Easter. The 2nd night she was here, (well, sometime overnight) she laid an egg, and not an egg since.
1) How should I have introduced her to the rest of the flock? One of my hens around her age tries to keep her from eating and chases her around. (Which is NOTHING in comparison to the "boys".)
2) Is it possible she isn't laying because she is out of her element at a new house and too scared?
3) How do you check for being egg bound and what do you do for it?
Thanks!
Keri
