I stopped over and gave him a card from the girls (my kids) and some cookies. He was very pleased. He said he was doing well, that his daughter was coming to visit before she and her husband went out, so I didn't feel so bad for him.
He has been doing a good job keeping real busy, but I can tell he is still very lonely. He is an avid gardener so we bartered for eggs for him in exchange for his tomato plants come spring! He has a small greenhouse so he is starting his seeds now.
I used to bring him meals, but he said I could stop since he was trying to do more cooking on his own as his wife had left him instructions!
But, he said he does love my bread, so I'll make sure to drop him off some of that.
