I also have oyster shell free choice in one of these inside the coop so it stays dry..

We use hoppers like this, too, for both grit and oyster shells.

We use hoppers like this, too, for both grit and oyster shells.

My chicks are 6 weeks old. I’ve been putting grit in a clay planter saucer. They scatter it everywhere, so I got a small gravity hopper. Within 10 minutes, they managed to knock half of it out in the coop. I took the hopper out and before I could pick the grit up, they turned it into a dust bath. Crazy chickens!
