Chicks are hatching!
Now on to the next problem! Hoping for a fast response from a more experienced banty owner. I have one banty mom with two chicks about 10 days old. Second banty mom (her daughter!) is right now hatching at least three chicks. Mom#2 is in a protected, separate little area I set aside for her when it became clear that Mom#1 was trying to force her out of her nest, taking over the eggs, even with her two hatchlings in tow! However... I have a very small coop and I've already got it partitioned in half to keep the moms in a "Nursery Area" away from the others. Now that area is halved and only one has access to an outside bit of yard with her chicks. What are my odds of dropping the partition in a few days to allow both hens (with their chicks) free access to the entire Nursery area of the coop/yard? Am I just asking for chicken wars? I can't leave everything as is for long, neither set will have enough room.
