How To Build a 4 x 4 x 8 Brood Pen

Hmmm, the weight... I'm not sure but it's not to heavy really. Any set of inflatable wheels around 8 inches in size should work, couple of wheel barrow handles and you're all set. When I move them I just pick of one end and scoot it over, then move the other end to match, but if you want to move it more than that I suppose wheels would be a good idea.

Hi Pat!

Thanks for the comments, the only real predators I seem to have in my area are hawks during the daytime and a great big ol' owl at night. My 1.5 acre yard is fenced with field wire and 3 strands of electric wire. So far I've not had any signs of any critters trying to dig their way in to any of my pens. For sure if I ever do find that something is trying to dig into the pen I'll take measures to prevent it, just have not had to so far. I also have a group of cross bred bantams that are free range all the time, I suppose a predator would have a much easier time getting one of them rather than going after the penned up show birds.

Wow! Thanks for sharing that. You did a fantastic job of explaining and the pics are great. I love this breeder/brooder and will be making some.
