How to build up chicks resistance to diseases from their day of hatching

It too looks dangerously cluttered with unnecessary items on which birds can get hurt. How many chickens do you keep in that space and how do you manage to clean the floor with all that stuff in the way?

The floor is easy enough cleaned with a brush, I have 7 lf hens but there hasn't been any accidents or injuries in the year I've had them, they only go in there when they're ready to sleep and go outside as soon as they wake so they don't spend time in there to forage or anything

I'm not doubting you it's just that everything is very sturdy and I'm worried about my choocks now, il remove anything that they could possibly slip or stumble on i guess but as it is everything is fairly solid

It's not the things they can slip and stumble upon...chickens seem to do that on a dust particle, they are that clumsy at times. It's just the multiple criss cross of things in a small space, the ropes, the lack of clear floor space if they should hop down from the roosts in a hurry, etc. It stands to reason the floor and area in which they live is less prone to causing injury if it's not got multiple obstructions in their way as they come down from the roosts.

If you've got roost room for the flock on your larger roosts over the poop board, I'm not sure what the extra ladder, ropes and small sticks are doing in the coop? Everyone does things their own way and you have a right to do it your way, so you don't need to listen to a word I say....many don't, I assure you!

But it does look rather cluttered and crowded in that small space for anything to live there without falling over, bumping into, flying into all the extra things.

It could be, from a Mom's perspective, that all I see here is a messy bedroom!

Honestly I think the only thing here that irks my ocd is that dowel running across to the ladder. Do they use that swing perch underneath? Can I make a suggestion? This is a swing perch built in housing designed for a hawk used in falconry. The rope is attached both at the roof and tied to a contractors brick on the floor. It keeps the perch from swinging too much. The eyelet and hook where it's attached to the wall may be a problem for chickens because, like said before, they are clumsy and will find a way to break their toes if the opportunity is provided. But if I were to put up swing perches for chickens, this is closer to the way I would do it.

Ohh ok that's a great idea i will remove these ones and attemt to build one that works the same as that hawk swing, they've never used them anyway the only time i ever see them indoors through the day is to dust bath or congregate around the dust box lol, they never use their main large swing outside either il try adjusting it so it works similar to the hawk swing, the perch running from the ladder was to let them jump up into the new best boxes i built them but again they have never used them :'( they all use the same nest box even though i made 1 each for all 7 of them lol , so il remove it too, thanks for the help

Can anyone tell me if this egg has stopped growing it doesn't have a bloodline but the inside looks to be larger than a yolker, it's 16 days in and the last 2 pics are of eggs that I know are winners
