How to calm chickens? (NOT TO EAT, PETS)

How do I make my girl(s) feel safe and calm when they start getting loud and nervous?
I put a rag over their heads... Or you can hypnotize them by flipping them on their backs and drawing an invisible line to from right where their beak is all the way down the middle of her.. maybe watch a video on that I'm bad at explaining. Other is holding them upside down/keeping them in "the death cone". Hope I helped!

It depends on why they're being loud and nervous. If they spotted an aerial predator like a hawk, being loud (warning each other) and nervous enough to move is a good thing. If it is your arrival that makes them upset, following a routine, talking to them (most predators try to be really silent then pounce) every time, doing things in the same order, bringing treats - will all help. So will not reaching down to try and pick them up during the day - if you want to start approaching them, do it while they're up on the roost at night, working on it over a period of days and weeks.

why are they loud and nervous. You need to address whatever they're loud about first. If its a predator, well, nothing you can do until they move on (so long as your run and coop are secure). No matter what, they're going to alarm to a predator.
If its you... then treat them more often and sit with them more. The need to get used to you.

The best way to put them in dark for few minutes I always do this and this trick always work for my Roosters when they seems aggressive and very much energetic lol
