Ok so I was driving down a dirt road only to see a white cockatiel on the side of the road and well I'd like to know of a way to catch him , I have one so I was thinking maybe it could call it and just wait patiently for it to get close to cage and throw a towel maybe ??? Anyone ever do this

Cockatiels LOVE nuts,...... so,......... act like a nut!

I use a long-handle fish net. Or you can try putting out bird cage with food inside. If it was a house pet who already knew how to climb inside, it will do so. If it is an escaped pet who has never been out of the cage it may never figure out how to get back inside but may land on top.

Couple weeks ago my mom got the stray cockatiel to come down and sit on her shoulder, then walked into her house and then I caught him, now he is living with me

Moms like you always wanted a bird. Maybe try holding some yummy food in your hand maybe he will come down and partake???

Good luck, at least he is where it is warm:) Its been getting in the 40s and 50s at night here brrr cold for a desert parrot.

If they are aclimated it isn't too cold, I have had an outside aviary for years and in the winter it gets quite cold, it was funny to see them walking in the snow looking for seeds before I moved the aviary. The key thing is that they have the ability to be protected from wind and rain.

Did you try and find if the bird had an owner? I know many people would be devastated to lose their pet, and accidents can happen even to the best owners.
