How to Catch a Pheasant?

Maybe you should put a bungee cord on your door so it will shut behind you!If their pen is empty, your best bet is to leave the door open and throw some feed in there and see if they will just walk back in.Unless you know where they roost at night and isn't to hi up,you could use a net,but they seem to get caught on everything.

The simple solution to prevent escaping birds is to construct a sallyport around the entrance to you pen. Just a small simple area that is fenced in with its own door or gate. You enter the sallyport, shut the gate behind you before opening the door to the pen. If the bird should happen to escape his pen he isn't going any where since he has another gate to get out of before he enjoys freedom. Not hard to construct and it saves a lot of headaches and lost birds.

ANyone else reading this.. if there are other pheasants that the escapee is bonded to and really even if it is just his home a funnel entrance would be simple... chicken wire shaped into a funnel with the wide mouth on the ouside of the cage and skiiny portion on the inside so nobody else can get out... wish I'd done this with some quail awhile back but didn't think abou tit at the time
