I have a cock and a hen that have been pretty much running wild, and now I need to catch them. I don't have a large fishing net, only netting that keeps wild birds out of gardens. (about 14x14 ft of it!) I have a large dog cage, with food in it, but they weren't interested in going in. What foods do they love?

you need a large walk in pen like a dog kennel. just put the food in there and wait till they get use to going in and out.
Wala peas in a pen, what ever you do do not chase them out in the open or you may never get them in a pen.

I do have a portable pen like that. It is a 10x10 square, but I could make it 10x20. My only concern is that the gate is very narrow, and there is no roof. Could I put the wild bird netting on the top to keep them from flying? Or would a tarp be better? It has to be secure.

Don't use the gate leave one of the panels un-hinged and go get a roll of cheep garden netting at home depote to make a cover.

I made a pen outside a pen leaving one panel unhinged so when i need to catch multipal birds i did not have to worry abut one getting out while i was getting another in i just herd them into the other cage and that helps catch the other birds too.

Thanks so much! Do you have any idea of how long it will take to actually catch them. I've found someone willing to give them a home, and I would just like to have an idea.

i can catch mine in 1 day but they are very nosey birds, guess it will depend on the peas.

I got mine in the pen with corn flakes and they are free range that show up at my house.
