How to clean an old rabbit hutch to use for broody hen?

I have a broody hen that is in the coop with 4 other chickens and her babies are due to hatch this Wed. The past couple of days Ive noticed that her neck feathers are slowly being plucked by the others. My FIL gave me this great little hutch that he used for one of his rabbits. How do I sanitize it and clean it really well so I can put the broody hen in it? Can I use bleach and water? Or should I just use soapy water? The top and back are wooden and the front, bottom and two sides are wire. With tin on the two sides. There is just a tiny bit of caked on poop at the very back in one corner that I need to clean out, but what else do I need to do?


And dont worry I plan on putting a solid bottom on it so its not to drafty on her.

Spray every nook and cranny with Bleach and water. If you have permethrin, mix some of that with water and give the pen a good soaking inside and out. Oughta be good to go after that.

How much bleach to how much water? Will this harm either broody hen or chicks when they hatch?

About three teaspoons of bleach to 1 gallon of water. Spray inside and out of coop after you get it all cleaned off of rabbit poop.No it will have no ill effects at all on your fowl.
