I have now lost another chicken to my dogs. I kept 4 of the pullets ( EE mixes) that were hatched over the summer and now I only have two of them left. Of those 4, all of them can fly over the 6 foot fence, my other chickens never fly. How do I clip their wings.

This is one of those things that is easier to demonstrate than describe. How we have clipped wings is very simple. With a pair scissors we clip the flight feathers on one wing. Do not clip too close to the wing itself, about half of the way up the length of the flight feathers, the whole length of the wing should be enough. Be sure to do one wing only becuase if you do both, the chicken may still be able to fly. The trick is to make the chicken off balance when it tries to fly. With both wings clipped the same it still may have enough balance and lift to fly. So do one wing only.
