They spontaneously started taking care of a single wild chicken where we live for a year or 2 now but has been spoiling her more and more to the point she lives in the RV in a big dog zip up crate with towels. I worry about my safety with the recent knowledge that chickens can spread illness through the air. They will fight me and say its cruel to leave her outside in the cold with no heating. When she has a single coop covered in tarp outside and is fairly insulated and even use to put towels in there before with moss in the smaller box where she slept. But now she is indoors all the time. I am a sickly person who gets stomachaches a lot and I'm worried I could be getting sicker from her. Any Ideas to convince them that she will survive 30-40 degrees F in the night? Thank you so much.
