How to create chicken-friendly dogs??

Poor little doggie!! Its funny how animals that shouldn't be able to scare a dog gets them spooked you know you have a baby doggie!! My two act like they are real babies when ever they get a chance and the cats I have usually put them in their place, so chickens will have the edge up on my Wahs haha!! I'm glad to see that there is someone with a Chihuahua that has chickens too, that makes me sigh in relief!

It can't be said often enough: training, training and more training. Then when you think you've got it, train some more. It's not fair to the dog or the chickens to throw them together and hope for the best. Too many times, dog goes after fun new squeaky toy, gets in trouble for it and no idea why. New toy gets injured or killed for no good reason.

Exactly! I will have Doggie boot camp going on in my house before they are ever allowed past the fence of the Chickens. I don't want scared chickens either so it'll be a delicate balance until I know all the pets are happy campers!

Rocky and Nilla, my two babies, can't handle the tennis ball either! Rocky just trys to pull off all the green fluff! haha so for the chickens "Fluff" that might not be a good thing!! haha

Aww, your dogs are sweet! Our dog is now 15 years old...and a great mommy dog to all of our animals. She chased our cat when she was little, just to get him down and lick the hell out of him, lol! We have cats, chickens, ducks, geese, mini horses and llamas...even bunnies and guinea pigs- no problem. I am afraid we will be losing her soon, and dread starting over with a new dog. (sigh) Good luck with yours!
