Hi, I'm a newcomer to this website and really value it as a resource.

In trying to change the ordinance in Pendleton, OR, I'm researching laws in various towns and would love to update this website as I go along.

The problem is I can't figure out how to start a new page on this part of the website: https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/3/Laws/tag/oregon-ordinances/

Does anybody know how to do this? There is no button for "start a new thread" ...

There is also one page I'd like to edit (https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/redmond-oregon-chicken-ordinance). Everything on there is accurate, but I want to add that Redmond Code 8.0365 restricts livestock to lots that are least 20,000 s.f.

Thanks!

There is an FAQ that explains how to create/edit "Articles" (https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/article-tutorial) :

Create A New Article

  1. Navigate to the Article home.
  2. On the main article page, you will see several tabs- locate the section you would like to contribute to.
  3. Within that article section, you will see a button to create a new article. If you do not see this button, you do not have the ability to create articles in this section.
  4. Click the "Create Article" button.

It doesn't explain why you might lack the ability to create an article or how you gain that ability ... does anybody know?

I've got a spreadsheet summarizing the chickens law in 30+ Oregon cities. I'd love to share this information if possible ... I might be able to post it somewhere in a forum ...

Hi :welcome

You may just need a few more posts to be able to start a new thread. I'm afraid these measures were put in place due to persistent spammers. It is also the same for articles, this is taken from the FAQ's ~

Q: I'm a new member and can't add a profile signature, post an article, review a product, etc.
A: Some features (like profile signatures, posting articles, reviewing products, using our Buy-Sell-Trade sections, etc. require you to have actively posted in our community forum anywhere from 10 - 20 times.

As for the page that you would like to edit, I believe it's set to open edit as when I view I see the edit button at the bottom of the article. Again you may need more posts before this appears for you.
