How to decide which roo to keep ?

I had 7 roosters and 9 hens when I got mine in the mail and just now got rid of just 3 roosters which one of them ended up being brought back anyway but they all got along for the most part like brothers because they were raised together and never separated in the first place. Do yours fight already if they don't you could prob keep them without too many issues other than much crowing.

I just had to do this. I had quite a few roos that were "born in the barn" and they started maturing.

I also had a few that were introduced a year ago.

I took the ones that were "related" and sold most of them.

I took a month long look at the others for temperment, how they look out for the hens, if they were "rapists", how the looked and finally how old (at least what I knew) they were.

In the end I sold of my frizzle roo, they german hanburg, my speckled sussex, my lakenvelder and a few other ones that I just hated to sell.

It was a very tough call, but in the end the whole flock is much happier.

I even GAVE AWAY a few white rock and leghorn hens that were getting hit hard to a freind that does not have a roo so they could recover.
