How to drop the Humidity

I have pulled out all the water and the humidity is still at 55 %.

How long ago did you take all the water out ? It will take some time for it to come down and get settled !!

If you still cant get it down you could get a de humidafier in the room the bator is in !!

If you have high hum in the room the hum will stay high in the bator !! Is it humid where you are ?

Not really humid here. It is rainy today. I took all the water out about an hour and half ago, the eggs were set in the bator Friday evening. They may be gonners anyway/ I didnt have anything in there to read the humidity until today.

It was still early for the eggs so it might not of done any harm to them, dont give up on them yet !! You can candle at day 7-8 to see how they are comming, As far as the hum goes just give it some time to come back down.

Do you have a still air bator ?

Also is on of your vent plugs open ?

Whats is your temp at ?

No vent plugs open the temp is at 99.5 to 100. Still air auto turner. This is a Brewer top hatch incubator.

I have never used a Brewer top hatch incubator. It does have vent plugs right ?? Or some kind of air holes ?

Day 1-18 one of the plugs should be open for air flow and then on day 18 you should open the other(s)

Air flow is very important during incubation.

In a still air the temps should be 100-102 (dont fiddle with the heat now)

ok pulled out on of the plugs, and the temp has been between 98 and 102 for the past few days.

ETA: Now that you pulled one of the plugs, keep and eye on the temp... It should stay stable BUT might drop a tiny bit. So watch it !!

Well, I dry incubate I add no water unless the hum drops under 30% and try to keep it about 35% On day 18 up it to 65%

Some people do it that way and some keep it more like 40% by adding water, Everyone has there way that works for them !!

I have tryed both ways and found that I have MUCH better hatch rates doing dry incubation.
