When I watched my chickens bathe in dirt in their coop expansion fence,it looks like they were very bored. It kinda makes me feel sad for them:( Like the only thing they do in the coop is eat, drink, sleep and laying eggs.
How do I entertain them?

They were not bored. Chickens do not need entertainment. WE ENTERTAIN OURSELVES WHEN WE PLAY WITH THEM.. Chickens care mostly about "" WHAT CAN I FIND TO EAT """ ROOSTERS,................................................. Well, figure that one out on your own..

And since you are new here

The first time I found mine dust bathing, I thought they were all dead or dying! Laying there, feebly kicking a leg, I nearly fainted. I think I gasped, and they got up, and shook off.

I realized it was rather like when I go get a massage, ahhhhhhhh. They are not bored. They are in bliss.

If you think they need entertainment, look at their run. In my opinion, it should have shade, roosts, and muliple levels, areas that are out of the wind.

The best thing you can give chickens is more space, where they can get away from other birds. Multiple levels and hideouts may make your run look more cluttered, but it will actually give them more space and interest.

The single most entertaining thing my chickens spend more hours per day on than anything else, including eating their feed, is a flock scratch block. It's a huge block of cemented in seeds that keeps them occupied for most of their waking hours. If you want to entertain your chickens, get them one.

Well..... you should be dancing for them..... and organize team sporting events..... and a few enrichment classes in the arts.

No, juuuussst kidding, sorry......

......but seriously, they can spend a good part of their days lounging around between... bouts of feeding, drinking, dust bathing, laying eggs, searching for bugs.
